It is possible to climb and walk from Hakavik Powerstation to the old railcar station . The walk takes you up along the tubes and the old railroad track. You will be able to enjoy stunning views of the lake Eikern, as well as noticing interesting things and areas that are more or less in the same state that they were nearly a hundred years ago. The flora is also abundant, and you may want to stop to pick wild strawberries on your way up.

We recommend that you walk this route in late spring or in summer, as the track may be very slippery in wet weather.

The elevation from the bridge by the power station to the railcar station is about 400 m. It is quite steep in some places, so you will probably want to leave the track at least once, and return to it when you have passed the steepest area (see map 2).

The climb from the bridge by the power station to the top is about 1,1 km. If you do not whish to climb down the same route, you may follow the road on your right side by the railcar station. By the first crossing on this road, turn right again and enjoy a pleasant stroll downhill to the small community of Hakavik.

From Hakavik, a ten minuts walk will take you back to where you started, the bridge by the power station. This walk is about 5,1 km
